CDN-NDG cash for local orgs

Celebration will mark anniversary of the birth of Philippines national hero Dr. Jose Rizal, (depicted in bust and monument in Mackenzie-King Park) with cultural presentations and dinner for Knights of Rizal members.

Côte des Neiges–Notre Dame de Grâce borough council awarded a number of grants to local organizations earlier this month. As is the practice in CDN-NDG, despite amounts listed as coming from “Donor” councillors, the monies come from councillors’ discretionary budgets, comprised solely of taxpayer funds, with recipients selected by the councillors for that month.

The groups receiving a total $9,700 include:

Association des Locataires de Place Newman: On-site activities for residents. $250
