Sandra Reich

Sandra Reich.

Sandra Reich is one talented lady. The clinical director of the Pointe Claire-based Montreal Center for Anxiety and Depression, best-selling author, co-director of Empowered Women Workshops, co-director of Anxiety Videos and the founder of Sandra Reich’s Couple Retreats has added yet another line to her impressive bio — host of a new weekly online radio show called Straight Talk with Sandra Reich.

The show airs each Thursday at 6 p.m. on Voice of America and focuses on relationships, anxiety, psychology and living your best life!

“Listenership has tripled in a short month, so we are developing a good audience,” Sandra shared with me. “People can listen online live or anytime. It is also on iTunes so listeners can subscribe easily or on our website — anytime listening works.”

You can subscribe at www.voiceamerica.com/show/2510/straight-talk-with-sandra-reich or on iTunes @ https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/straight-talk-sandra-reich/id1060745822?mt=2 or you can access it from http://www.helpforanxietydepression.com/radio/and call in with questions at 1-866-472-5792.

“There are secrets to living your best life,” says Sandra. “We have control over our destinies if we are willing to accept responsibility and learn how to evolve to our highest levels. The sky is the limit if you can learn about your own traps, wounds and move beyond them. We don’t get a manual on parenting, romantic relationships, how to become successful or how to manage life. Victimization, anxiety, depression, martyrdom and worse are the fallouts of not understanding your own role in your own life quality.”

Sandra’s upcoming guests include the fascinating Dr. Sue Johnson (one of the most respected relationship experts in the world), Dr. Christine Carter (Sociologist and Happiness specialist as seen on Oprah), Dr. John Gray (from Men are from Mars…) and many other top experts on living one’s best life.

Sandra holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from McGill University. She received extensive training from the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Clinic for Anxiety Disorders at The Montreal General Hospital and has participated in workshops and lectures with pioneers of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Imago Therapy and Emotional Focused Therapy.

KAGAN SIGNS THE BOOK: The celebration of Dorval entertainment guru Sheldon Kagan’s great career continues. Last week he was invited to Montreal City Hall to sign the “Golden Book” in recognition of his 50 years in the Montreal entertainment and wedding industries. Deputy Mayor Mary Deros hosted this special event. Sheldon retired last year.

BLOG BANTER: Please see my blog for stories about Global TV in Montreal, which includes West Islanders Tim Sargeant and freelancer Felicia Parrillo as part of their reporting team. I also have a piece on 23-year-old Dollard native and John Abbott College grad Ilana Zackon. She has launched her own company called Floor 13 Productions and on Saturday, Feb. 20 she will get the ball rolling with her directorial debut with afternoon and evening staged readings of Betty’s Summer Vacation by Christopher Durang at MainLine Theatre on Boulevard Saint Laurent.
