JFK Golf Tournament

The "Just for Kids" Foundation (JFK) raises funds towards purchasing high priority medical equipment for the Montreal Children's Hospital. This year's campaign is called A Vision for the Future and supports the departments of Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Cranio-Facial Surgery and the NICU

The 2016 Golf Tournament is set to take place on Wednesday, June 15 at the prestigious Le Club Laval-sur-le-Lac. This year, there is also a Cycle Tour with two routes (60-65 km and 80-85 km) taking place on site. The cyclists will enjoy a gourmet three course meal and live auction, along with the golfers.

Steering the event for the second year in a row are two young fathers, Jesse Lubin and Matt Rodier.  The Laval event is one of JFK’s signature activities and the all-inclusive green fee will include: brunch prior to tee-off; 18 hole rounds of golf, including cart, snacks and beer; cocktails at the clubhouse; a three-course dinner; and Fabulous live auction during dinner and great prizes to be given away.

Cyclists will enjoy all of the luxuries of the JFK Golf Tournament while exploring the beauty of Laval-sur-le-lac on bike.  All groups will be accompanied by cycling pros, motorcycle escort for security purposes as well as mechanical and paramedic support. For cyclists the minimum fundraising goal is $500 to participate; for golfers it is $550.

Lubin says that the Laval course is a beauty. “We switched to the championship blue course, which is one of the most spectacular courses in Quebec,” he notes. “It is one of the draws to get people to come in this day in age where golf tournaments are having a hard time selling out. The goal for Matt and I is to make this a marquee golf tournament. We have now sold out two years in a row and we had to turn away foursomes because we are at maximum capacity. We even added a cycling event this year to try and reach a different demographic and with the help of Derek Silverman it is working. Our goal also this year with the help of the cycling event would be to gross $200,000.”

Adds Rodier: “Ever since I got involved with the JFK golf tournament in 2011 it has always been at Laval-sur-le-lac. The crowd loves it and so do we. I’ve golfed at many of Quebec’s most prestigious golf courses and in my opinion, it tops them all. It’s a venue that many of our participants can’t access under normal circumstances, so there is a sense of prestige in that.”

There are only a few spots left so Contact the JFK office at 514-989-7673 or visit JFKfoundation.ca to register, make a donation, volunteer or sponsor the event.
