One of the threats to democracy is failure to see when democracy is threatened. For many Quebec pundits, when the head of the Privy Council, the Principal Secretary to the prime minister, and the prime minister himself badger, bother and beleaguer the attorney-general in the exercise of her functions, this is just another day at the office. They fail to see the difference between intervention and interference. So it’s refreshing to see your editorial on the subject.

Another threat to democracy is when our leaders gaslight us. Truth, Trump, and Trudeau. These three words share their first three letters. That’s where the first parts company with the other two.
