A Bazaar for Jesse, a fundraising event to help aid in the continuing search for Jesse Galganov, is taking place Sunday, March 17 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Lawrence Bergman Chalet in Côte St. Luc’s Trudeau Park.
The event is hosted by the organization Help Us Find Jesse, headed by his mother Alisa Clamen and Jen Gian. Galganov, 22 at the time, went missing Oct. 1, 2017 during a lengthy backtracking trip. He was last seen in the Cordillera Blanca Mountains of Northern Peru, in Huascarán National Park.
“Jesse’s mother Alisa Clamen has left no stone unturned in an effort to find him, notably engaging a prominent Israeli search and rescue company called Magnus International,” CSL councillor Mike Cohen noted on his website, mikecohen.ca. “Their search and investigation is ongoing and Alisa has full confidence that they will succeed in locating him. However, the costs related to the search have already exceeded $2 million.”
According to Cohen’s blog, the bazaar will take the form of a “garage sale, bake sale, sale of new items, raffle, auction and community event. All funds will go directly to the Jesse Galganov Fund at the Missing Children’s Network.”
“Donations of garage sale items can be dropped off at the Chalet on Friday, March 15 from noon to 3 pm and Saturday, March 16 from 9 am to noon and from 7 pm to 10 pm.”
CSL Mayor Mitchell Brownstein is also urging people to attend Sunday’s bazaar.
