The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for volunteers to help with their annual daffodil campaign that will run from April 4th to 7th, 2019 specifically with the sale of flowers, deliveries,

compilation of cash and managing the points of sale. Call Volunteer West Island! Minimum age: 16

The Family Resource Centre helps families with children experiencing learning and/or behavior problems by offering individual and group support to the children and their parents. They are looking for volunteer board members who are willing to become actively involved in the organization, bring ideas to the table, support fundraising efforts and help raise awareness.

Founded in 1984, Moisson Montréal is now the largest food bank in Canada thanks to its food donation and distribution programs. They count on over 11,000 volunteers per year to make the redistribution of over 86 million dollars’ worth of foodstuffs possible. Volunteers are needed for the handling and sorting donated food that is to be re-distributed to affiliated non-profits. Some volunteers also help the Head Cook. Finally, there are also volunteers who help with general facilities maintenance tasks. Minimum age: 16, 12 & over if accompanied by an adult.

AVATIL is an organization that supports clients with mild to moderate intellectual handicaps achieve independent living. Their board of directors is looking for a new member and a treasurer with finance/accounting experience to begin in April.  7 meetings in Lachine, September through May. Call Volunteer West Island!

The West Montreal Readaptation Centre (WMRC) is looking for volunteers to help in their offices in Lachine and in Beaconsfield with administrative duties. The organization is also looking for volunteers who would like to spend about 2 hours per week spending time with an adult who has intellectual disabilities, developmental or autism spectrum disorders.
