Tamil Community have made Quebec their home dating back to early 1980’s. We have struggled to integrate in a new country filled with new values, new language, new people, new laws and particularly new challenges. We never gave up and we understand the importance of sharing our knowledge, language and culture to break the barriers of discriminations, stereotypes and prejudices.
As you may already know the federal government passed a motion declaring the month of January as a Tamil Heritage Month in 2016. The motion recognizes the contribution Tamil-Canadians have made to Canadian society, the richness of the Tamil language and culture, and the importance of educating and reflecting upon Tamil heritage for future generation.
We are pleased to announce for a consecutive year, over 30 organizations are coming together again to celebrate the contributions of Tamils since their arrival in Canada. We are expecting approximately 2,000 guests including the presence of other various cultural communities who has confirmed their participation.

In 2019, we welcomed about 1,500 guests at Chateau Royal amongst elected officials and friends of the community.
