The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) wishes to congratulate its Director General and Chief Curator, Nathalie Bondil, recognized as a Friend of Peace with the 2019 Prix Amie pour la Paix. The award was presented yesterday at the Artistes pour la Paix awards ceremony held at the Maison du Conseil des Arts in Montreal.

Founded more than 30 years ago, Les artistes pour la Paix (Artists for Peace) annually honours artists and leading figures in various disciplines, whose actions promote peace and social justice. The organization wished to recognize Ms. Bondil's commitment to the promotion of peace, particularly through events that promote intercultural dialogue and social inclusion.

"From the socially engaged exhibitions Cuba: Art and History from 1868 to Today and Imagine: The Peace Ballad of John and Yoko to the inauguration of the Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion for Peace, Nathalie Bondil, Director General and Chief Curator of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, has promoted spiritual and social peace through art. We salute her humanist vision, which reflects the essential values of Artistes pour la Paix," noted André Michel, National President of Artistes pour la Paix.
