Juno-nominated recording artist and popular performer Jennifer Gasoi is excited to launch her highly-anticipated new children and family music CD, Throw a Penny in the Wishing Well, at the Rialto Theatre on Sunday, September 30 at 11:00am. Joining Jennifer will be gifted musicians Andy Dacoulis (guitar), Richard Irwin (drums), John Sadowy (piano), Gilbert Joanis (bass), Jonathan Moorman (fiddle), Pat Vetter (saxophone), Ron DiLauro (trumpet) and Pierre Messier (accordion). This dynamic, celebratory concert will be a family-outing highlight.
Through Jennifer’s buoyant music on Throw a Penny in the Wishing Well, families enjoy the world of jazz, 50’s style doo-wop, klezmer, swing, gospel, folk, Cajun and calypso. Her great sound is guaranteed to get kids and adults alike singing and swinging! Since releasing her debut album, Songs for You, the response to Jennifer’s music has been extraordinary. She has a unique gift for writing and performing upbeat, intelligent children’s songs that adults love too, with clever lyrics, catchy melodies and undeniably danceable rhythms. For Jennifer, it is very important to produce high quality music for families that is made with love and great attention to detail, “This is not your typical kids’ album or show. The musicians are of the highest calibre, the songs are accessible and relevant for kids and adults, and the musical genres are eclectic. It brings people of every generation together- from babies to grand-parents.”
Jennifer is passionate about living life to the fullest and creating music and live shows that reflect this passion. Through her music, she hopes to inspire children (and adults) to live from the heart, stay true to themselves and follow their dreams, “In today’s world where everything is moving so fast and there is so much stimulus from every direction, I aim to create a musical experience that allows listeners to reflect on, and connect to, one another and themselves.” Song themes include being grateful for each moment, joy, mindfulness, celebration, trust and love; powerful, important themes, wrapped in fun, cheerful music.
Gasoi worked for two years on this project; she wrote, arranged and produced all songs, put the band together (18 musicians play/sing on the CD) and directed the cover art, “It is amazing to have a vision in your mind and watch it come to fruition through intention and hard work.” This concert is the inauguration of her new album as well as a big thank-you to all her Montreal fans, “Over the years I have been so fortunate to have the most amazing, loyal and supportive fans. I’m hoping that people will come away from my show feeling energized, inspired and full of joy.” Jennifer will gladly be available to sign CDs after the concert.
