It's all in the details

A smart ensemble is all the more striking when it is paired with well-thought-out accessories. Choosing a few elegant add-ons, such as various pieces of jewellery or footwear, can really tie a look together, particularly when they're seasonal items.
Fall is the perfect time to break out some beautiful details and take your wardrobe to the next level. "From skinny belts to printed scarves, tote bags to knitted neck loops, metallic clutches and statement-making necklaces, fall puts bold accessories firmly in the style spotlight," said Anita Ormos, category manager of accessories at Laura Canada.
"Bangles and cuffs are the must-have items of the season. Wear them stacked on both arms for the ultimate 'it' look. Mix metals and textures for an on-trend style."
Accessories are a great way to get a little funky and try something new. "Experiment with your look by mixing accessories in different colours, textures and metallics until you find a style that suits you," Ormos advised.
"Colour is a key trend in accessories. Notably, cobalt blue makes its mark this season, with clutches to gloves saturated in this sophisticated colour. Scarves in paisley and floral prints worn closely wrapped or tied around the neck are chic accent pieces. A scarf offers a great opportunity to mix textures and colours, which is an important fall trend."
Other chic items for fall include belts, particularly those in rich hues such as ox blood, teal, mustard, vibrant reds, deep tans, and blue. Pick up a few dramatic necklaces, which are the perfect way to fill in a neckline and dress up a plain black turtleneck. Gold, in different finishes, from shiny to antique finishes, is extremely important this season as well.
And don't overlook the simplicity of the envelope clutch or a great tote. Ormos said clutches are a must this season. "It adds an extra element of polish to your look … Look for them in colour-blocked styles, mixing colour and textures in bold or classic combinations."
Accessories can also help to extend the wear-ability of various look. "Accessories are a versatile and chic way to instantly elevate any outfit or to transform it from a day-to-night look," Ormos pointed out.
"Add a jacquard scarf over a blazer, roll up the sleeves and load  up on the bangles for an instantly glamorous evening look. Don't forget to add a quilted purse or clutch to complete your outfit. Accessories let you experiment with personal style and change the overall look or feel of an outfit."
This means that a simple jeans and tank top look can instantly become an alluring night-time ensemble with the addition of a few added sparkly details.
Turn your fall wardrobe up a notch (or two) with some of the season's hottest accessories. Belts and bangles, clutches and totes, necklaces and scarves — a handful of simple items can infuse stylish complexity to any outfit.
