Homegrown DDO company wins Consumer Choice Award

For a company that started in a basement eight years ago, winning a Canadian Consumer Choice Award for Business Excellence in your field is an impressive achievement.  The Sweet Basket, a gift basket retailer that ships across Canada and has a store open to the public on Brunswick in Dollard des Ormeaux, did just that when it was granted the prestigious prize at a ceremony last week.
The awards have been in operation since 1987 and through market research, studies and surveys, determine the best recipients in a variety of categories.  For the Sweet Basket, the award for Business Excellence incorporates high customer service.
When asked how she came up with the idea of selling a variety of gift baskets including custom designs, owner Dina Ardizzoni said that she searched through the Internet looking "at different products that were available and then decided to look for an upscale and exclusive service.  What started as a mom and pop website has really blossomed over the years."
Ardizzoni credits the award to her and her staff going the extra mile as "we stand behind our products and our satisfaction is guaranteed."
The company deals with many corporate clients who use the service for baby or promotional baskets.
Christmas is a busy time for the company with, according to employee Vanessa Molle, as many as "three hundred orders a day during the holiday season.  It gets a little crazy here around Christmas."
The Sweet Basket is located at 84A Brunswick Boulevard in DDO.  Contact them at thesweetbasket.com.n
