It was a mid-day spaghetti lunch and, as the old song says, the "joint was jumpin." the latter was due not only to WICS' force-of-nature executive director Caroline Tison and her incredible staff and volunteers, but also to the prescence and participation of Cat Spencer and Sarah Bartok of Beat 925.
West Island Community Shares provides crucial and recurrent funding to 36 West Island community groups who deliver essential services to West Islanders in need. Some 35,000 people make use of one or another of the services WICS helps support. The WICS model is unique because 100% of donations received goes back to the West Island community groups due to corporate sponsorships that cover all operational and administrative costs. Since its inception in 1998, West Island Community Shares has raised and distributed more than $7.4 million.
