Opening for punk legends

Opening for punk legends

September 7th, 2012

NDG alt punk band The BCASA recently had their most high profile gig to date when they got to open for iconic band The Offspring. Getting notice of the spot only a few days before the Sept. 3 show at The Metropolis, the trio, made up of Nick Rasytinis, Wes Paterson and Mathieu Couture, never the less delivered a powerful half hour set, belting out songs like “Batman” and “Karate.”
Considering that The Offspring would routinely sell out arenas during their prime, this was a great opportunity for the band that recently returned from a cross-Canada tour of relatively small venues.
The Offspring, for their part, delivered a set full of their most well known songs such as “Come Out and Play” and “Gotta Get Away” as well as songs from their new album Days Go By. Although their edge may have softened over time, they demonstrated to the sold out crowd that they can still deliver.
