Marcoux wins easily in Vaudreuil while Charlebois narrowly hangs on to Soulanges

Liberal incumbent Yvon Marcoux won a fifth consecutive mandate in the riding with a total number of 15,977 votes (45%).  PQ candidate and student Kim Comeau garnered 7,088 and CAQ hopeful Martin Legault, who manages a company that helps the intellectually handicapped, earned a 26% of the total vote or 9,047 in total, taking second place in the riding.
Marcoux took more than half of all votes in the 2008 with a total of 15,827 votes for the Liberal incumbent.  Marcoux has been a member of parliament since 1998 and has served as both Justice and Transport Minister during his parliamentary tenure.
Coteau-du-Lac resident and three time Liberal MNA for the riding of Soulanges, Lucie Charlebois, who has served as the party's caucus Whip since 2011, was able to hang on to her role as MNA for the area by narrowly defeating career journalist André Bouthillier by a slim margin for  a total of 1,125 votes as of press time on Tuesday night where 159 of the 169 poll stations had been counted.
CAQ candidate Mario Gagnier earned almost 10,000 votes or 28% of all votes cast, making the contest a three way race.  In the 1995 referendum, the riding voted 57.1% in favour of separation.n
